Welcome to the Way of the Word ministries. The name of our ministry is not a slogan, or a motto, nor is it simply a nice play on words. Rather, it is an explicit expression of a deep spiritual way of life. The Way was the name used by the first century church. The Apostles felt it perfectly represented the words of Christ, who described Himself as “the Way.” Jesus said of Himself, “I am the Way, and the truth, and the light.” John 14:6 The name therefore, denotes Christ, as well as the direction we are going; we are following Christ. The Word is another term for describing the scriptures, that is, the Bible. However, Jesus was also called the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1 Then the Word became flesh. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 Jesus stepped down from His throne, removed His robes of glory, and became flesh. We not only follow the Lord Jesus by following the Way, we follow Him by following His Word. The full richness of the Bible is seldom enjoyed by Christians because they’ve never truly devoured and immersed themselves into it. We want to encourage you to journey with us through the Bible at a level you’ve never imagined. Beyond the letters typed upon a piece of paper, lies a deep, rich, world of life changing teaching.
